Leaving 'The Jungle' at Changing The Narrative hosted by UH Supporting Refugees (2016)
The installation involved a projected image of news reporting on contemporary events of the Syrian Civil War, constrasted by a CRTV with footage of news coverage over the Calais ‘Jungle’. The reporting speaks over one another, one empathic and one antogonist, one showing pity and the other stiring contempt.
At the certain points the footage overlays one another, highlighting the disparity and de-humanisation at work among discussions of the Calais ‘Jungle’.
